Magnets, hands down. They're not that much of a waste; and they're sticky, yet removeable. Better than stickers. Good to put on the fridge, too.

I vote magnets because as much as I love stickers I never have anywhere to put them. I'm always afraid I'll throw out/use/wear out whatever I put stickers on... magnets however are always on the fridge or other big metal things I won't loose!
