if u could find time in your oh so busy life, that would be wonderful, can u make me a jolteon tail, ears, feet, and hands by next year ish? since u don`t need that much material for it since i am 13 (meaning it would be smaller sizes) could u lower the prices, like the feet being $35ish and the hands being $20ish plz!!!
You're not late at all actually! When I posted this up last year, commissions were not open then.
And currently I am not open for any new commissions until my current to-do list is gone. I was really hopeful to re-structure myself and start offering costume commissions officially in January 2011... but I'm not sure that's going to happen now with all I have yet to do to be prepared for that. Sometime in 2011 I may once more find the time.
Thank you for your interest all the same. I will be opening for these again in the future for sure!
Right now, I actually do not have any clue what kind of prices I'll be settling on when the time comes. Therefore I couldn't give you a quote with any real confidence. This is nothing set it stone by any means and they may fall outside of these estimations, but it should give you an idea what to shoot for. These are on the lower average of most fursuit builders:
Heads may be in the range of $400-700, bodysuits between $200-400, hands $40-100, feet $70-130, wings $150-300? Maybe :/ It'll be awhile for this to sort itself out.
I really don't know when I'll be able to open commissions again, and therefore won't know what my eventual prices will be, but I suppose I could price it in the ballpark range of $40ish. Maybe. It depends on all the options you want on it.
However if you're looking for one now, my good friend Shaggy Griffon just opened custom hat slots for only $30! Info here: [link] Examples here: [link]
I suffer from stress! I look forward so awful lot to you Begin on Charizard head! to one thing. try to get it done for April 22? then I will on the inventor Center with my class to when I tengte ask the head to tail as I'm sitting with now Happy Euphoric Eager
Hi I'm Zecon! Nice to meet you. ( In a sense) I watched your videos on youtube and find them quite funny. I'm actually an artist by nature but have started to make my own furry parts. I have a few pictures in my gallery if u want to look and give some ideas. Anyway just wanted to tell you to keep up the silliness!
Thank you for the information...this is certainly useful in case I ever decide to either go back into Live-Action Role-Playing or decide to hit the convention circuit as a game host....or just doing general event planning...a great costume tends to stick in the minds of customers.
As you gain more experience, you may also want to keep your eyes and ears peeled for people/companies/organizations that are looking for a corporate mascot/identity. A couple of accounts like that could set you up for a while.
Also, have you considered doing Medieval or Renaissance Faire style costuming? I know a lot of cities across the country have at least one or two of those that go on at various times of the year...and the Society of Creative Anachronism, who stick to Medieval period accuracy (for the most part) may be another source of income you can tap with your talents and skill...
Hmmm...a Charizard Knight....or a Squirtle Cleric...
Once again, thank you for the information; I shall tuck it away.

I'm thrilled to hear that MFS is finally getting off the ground.
I looked at the prices and pondered in my head and have decided when the timing is correct, (and I got the funds) that I will send some biz ur way.
I would love to have you help me with a few things, I simply will say it... I stink at sewing. I think I remember explaining to you about my possible render for my OrionStardragon costume. I still have it set as Partial set with the paws, feet, tail, horns/ears (or a head if possible).
After seeing your Queue was filled, I decided that I'm probably gonna drop the head and make it more of a wig that has the ears and horns attached. I really liked how your Charizard costume turned out so... I was using him as a springboard.
I will E-Mail ya when I am set for quotes. Feel free to give me some pointers if ya wish . I could use em XD
omg riley, those example for commision ears are soooo cute....i would commision them, but i would like to attempt it myself, and ssee how i do...and if u dont know me, im bloodywolfpaws from youtube.....X3 keep up the great work
Hey Canine Hybrid! I've been watching you youtube videos for some time and I'm really impressed! Recently I've found several VERY useful websites: This one is a huge database of fursuit makeing: [link]
Most of the links are broken but it does have some useful information on there!
Also, since you've asked in your recent video, I livein canada and there's a huge line of fabric stores called FABRICLAND I HIGHLY suggsest this store since they have really good quality fur for REALLY cheap. I mean my entire costume I've made; cost less then 15$. I didn't make the bodysuit part it's just a partial but I'm extremely satisfied with this store. They don't have that great of a variety (They only have 2 shades of orange, one being funfur) but black and white and brown there's plenty.
Hi, i love your Costumes you make. and i would like a Dragon costume, in the style of this photo [link]hotoAlbumId=6040574644&hotoId=6040765716 and with wings. but there is one small problem i live in the UK.
I have reviewed your request for a dragon costume. However, I'm currently not taking full costume commissions for another year or two and I also could not view your photo because I have to be a logged in member of that website.
Right now I can build individual parts such as feet and tails (MAYBE go as far as wings) but I would ask that you please try and e-mail me at email@example.com with your request and the image as an attachment if you would like to consider this option for now instead. You living in the UK is not a problem, but the shipping will cost a little more.
I will be doing full costumes for people eventually, but that may be in a few years from now. Thanks for your interest!
I hate to sound like a n00b, but I saw your kickass Charizard costume on Youtube- how much would a mask like that cost? Next year, I may try to be a Mightyena, depending on how much monies I'll have raked up. XD
Thank you! Glad you like it :3 I currently am not offering masks because I want to get better at them before I can start selling them. So maybe in a year or two. They will probably go for around $300 or so, depending on the complexity, but I haven't fully decided yet.
A Mightyena huh? Awesome! My best buddy *Animeg made a Mightyena fursuit last year :3
Okie Dokie, I see C: Wow, that sounds so cool! I though of getting a 'yena fursuit at first, but I'd probably die in one, XD That way, I thought, the simple head, tail, hands combo would be easier for me, seeing as I wouldn't be wearing it all the time, y'know?
Yeah, fursuits are difficult for some people to handle. I really want to buy this water pump cooling unit suit thing that you can wear underneath the fursuit, but it's really expensive. If you wanted to do the tail and hands, those I could do for you right now. And yes, wearing a partial is a lot easier than the full thing.
Also, I CAN do the head right now if you'd really like me to... the only thing is that I'd probably have more experience after another year of practice, thus you could probably get a better quality head if you waited. It's up to you really. Either way I'd try my hardest to give you the best of my ability. The benefit of buying one now is that it'd be cheaper than if you waited till next year. If you're still interested in a quote for buying a head, tail, and hand/feet paws, I can note you.
Wow, I would love to get the hands/mask soon, but I'm stripped of monies- my fish tank's $40.00 filter went out last week >< Which sucks, because I only have, maybe.. ten dollars left? It sucks having no time to work for people in the school semesters, y'know? I'm hoping I could get some money rounded up next year- I'll be able to work *coughplaynintendoWFCatthenewmcdonaldsthathaswi-ficough* at non-family owned buisenesses and request plain ol' cash for x-mas. And I may just try out the tail myself. I've been practicing making tails, but I can't do anything past that. XD Also, since I'm no furry and have only a bit of knowledge on how to make the suit, how would you measure the head? You know, like, around the top center and widest part of the head?
lol, I'm stripped of monies too. Don't worry I understand. Yes, tails are generally the easiest things to do; that was the first thing I ever used a sewing machine on. I'm currently in the process of attempting to find a solution to the tail armature problem... I want to get realistic movement but still have a set, stable structure. I've got several ideas that involves a lot of different materials including springs. And of course you don't need any sort of armature if you don't want. You can just stuff them with poly-fil.
Anyways, every fursuit builder asks you to measure the head but they all might do it slightly differently. I would specifically need two specific measurements: the circumference around your forehead and the circumference around from the top of your head to your chin. What also helps, if you'd be comfortable sharing, a photograph of yourself so I can have a better reference of how I can make the costume better fit the individual who is going to be wearing it.
