A-kon Convention Schedule

Journal Entry: Sun May 27, 2012, 4:50 PM

Final updates for the month!

A-kon is the oldest-running anime convention in the USA held annually in Dallas, TX. It's this weekend, June 1-3. I make a roadtrip out there my friends each year. The main point of this journal is to let you know what's happening A-kon weekend if you're attending so you know what to look for and when.

>>>[CLICK HERE FOR THE SCHEDULE]<<<

Highlights of this event calendar would include the costume meetup with :icondreamvisioncreations:~DreamVisionCreations' Minccino and Emolga suits (as well as when you can most likely expect to see Toothless), the times you can catch Groudon out on the floor, and all the panels I am interested in attending. I'll be bringing Aerodactyl out of retirement for an appearance with :iconbeastsoul:~BeastSoul's Kabutops too. Also not listed on the schedule is the Thursday "spirit walk" parade at 8pm, if we get settled in by that time I'll go to that. If you're interested, go check it out.

Also! If you want to keep up with my trip, I'll be tweeting whenever something worth mentioning happens :)

Also I will not be bring Shadow Lugia, she isn't ready for con-time. I MIGHT be able to take her her Denver Comic Con but no promises there either.

My con group consists of these awesome peeps

:iconreytiger::iconsorincrecens::icondraga03::iconscratchingsouls::iconsaiyai::iconwingsofsmoke::iconkalashnikovmarine::iconstarmuttani::iconhappyhuginn::iconnighttwilightwolf::iconmajinfido0::icontoxicasylum::iconmajindante0::iconcyanidejisatsu:

Anyone else attending? What will you be dressing up as? :>

A-Kon Meme!

How are you getting there? 14 hour roadtrip with friends! On the road all day Thursday (oh gawd)

What hotel are you staying at? Marriott

Which days will you be attending? Thursday 6pm through Sunday as late as 9pm

Who are you staying with? My brother Rey, Sorin, Sanyai, Rek, Draga, Mer, and Eric

How do you want to be addressed? Riley is preferred, but CanineHybrid, Canine, or Hybrid works too

Gender? Female

Age? 22

What do you look like? 5' 6.5"  with short black hair, (might be spiked) hazel eyes, apparently look like a guy from the back lol. I always wear a dark T-shirt with dark cargo pants. Most of the time I'll be wearing my Shadow Lugia hoodie or have my Riley hat on.

Where/how can I find you? Check out my schedule: [link] and/or look out for my cosplays

Do you do requests? Maybe a doodle ;p

Do you do trades? Rarely

Do you do commissions? Yes but I'm not open for new requests at the moment

Will you be selling any items? Not for this con

Will you have Art in the Art Show? Nope

What is your main purpose for attending? To chillax- enjoy my first year ever NOT slaving away sewing in the hotel room! :dummy: Hang with friends, attend some panels, and buy things I don't need!

Can I talk to you? Sure! Warning though: I'll easily talk your ear off.

Can I take pictures with you? Feel free!

Can I touch/hug/cuddle you? A handshake, highfive, or friendly hug is fine

Can I hang out with you? I won't have much time on my hands, when I'm wandering around the AA or dealer's might be the best time if you want to tag along, otherwise you'll just have to be following me around while I'm in costume or assisting other's with theirs, like the stalkers you all are

Do you go to parties? Nope, I'm probably more of a party-killer than anything. Never been to a room party nor care to.

What costumes are you wearing??? Shadow Lugia Hoodie most of the weekend during downtime/assisting Groudon. Aerodactyl otherwise. Check out the schedule for where/when.

What is the best way to reach you? Find one of my friends (anyone listed above, including Monoyasha/Ciarra and BeastSoul) or tag me in a Twitter post (assuming I can get to my phone of course).

Updates, Portfolio, Money, and A-kon

Journal Entry: Mon May 7, 2012, 11:29 PM

Let's get ready to rumble™!

Plenty of things going on lately, here's to keeping you all up to speed.

EDIT

I'm a derp and totally forgot to pimp out my friend :iconthe-imperial-dragon:and :iconxena-michele:'s badge commissions! Dude check out this amazing awesome art, and these were only $10 each! TEN FLIPPING DOLLARS FOR THIS BEAUTIFULNESS ASDFGHJKL. You know you want one ;p

I have been a bit absent from the online world more than usual... due to a lot of school-related things. I need to look for an internship for next quarter and keep up with my assignments. There were some times I was sick last week too which didn't help. But I'm working on it. This has taken away my time from working on my costume though and I need to start changing that around.

One thing I did start the other day was a character "ask blog" featuring Theod (of course). I've actually for some reason have had a lot of motivation to work on it and have done 3 entries in less than 24 hours. wtf is wrong with me? I'm never this productive. We'll see how long my motivation continues... if I get flooded with too many questions, that may spell trouble. Once I reach 6 entries, I'll cross-post them here in my gallery. Go follow the blog on Tumblr! [link]

Theod Portfolio Project

As I mentioned in my last journal, my portfolio at this point revolves around Theod. I have started sculpting the raptor head and estimate I'm about 30% done with that as of the last Livestream broadcast. As always, these photos will be found on my Flickr [link] and as I make bigger milestones I'll share them in my DA gallery. I hope to have the head finished by the end of this month, but I'm already so low on funds, I won't be able to buy the silicone and casting supplies for awhile. So I'll probably start focusing on the feet after we've made some adjustments to the digitigrade stilts. Good news though- I have bought a replacement for my Dremel tool and should be able to get further on the Charizard mask in the meantime!

The other major part to my portfolio is the animated short project. I missed last week's class so I was unable to pitch my ideas to the animation board, therefore I will find out what project they want me to work on tomorrow afternoon. I have been updating regularly about my portfolio projects (both animated short and the costume) over on my new Wordpress journal blog [link] . Do check here from time to time if you want to keep informed (updates to this are also posted on my Twitter/Facebook). Some of this will find its way into my DA gallery too, but not all of it.

Money and Shadow Lugia plans

First off, I am highly considering NOT bringing Shadow Lugia to A-kon this year. She is no longer in the best condition and is more of a hassle to deal with than it is worth for my handlers. I had planned to give her a much-needed makeover before the convention but I don't have the money to do this right now, I have the hotel and trip costs for A-kon set aside but otherwise I'm going to be struggling to even eat until my next paycheck. I will be able to fix all of the structural problems since I always have foam in stock but cannot replace the fabric. She should be good to go for Denver Comic Con if I don't spent too much at A-kon.

But depending on how bad my financial situation is, I am really debating if I should even go anywhere near the idea of opening for a few commissions. I think that the ONLY ONLY way I would be able to do this properly is if I accepted on-the-spot commissions over Livestream and broadcasted the drawing session. That would ensure you got what you paid for immediately and it would not add on to my current list. Is there any interest in this at all? I need to make about $100 for the new fabric and want to see how feasible this is.

A-kon 23

Alright A-kon planning time because I've had several people ask. They just released the panel schedule today so I can officially make plans. Huzzah! As far as the famed Legendary Pokémon group goes, we will be bringing Groudon. Both Rayquaza and Kyogre projects are in limbo and will not be participating this year. Shadow Lugia is 50/50, at the very least I'll have the hoodie. I am also going to bring Aerodactyl back in order to match ~BeastSoul's Kabutops.

FRIDAY: I am so so SO attending ~ABrownrigg's makeup effects panel 12:00-1:30. Probably the most excited I've ever been for a panel. Actually no, the other most excited I've ever been for a panel goes to ~dirktiede's Paradigm Shift Q&A at 2:30-3:30 as it is my absolute favorite comic of all time... in which I'm totally buying all his books for him to sign and it will be epic. And then of course I'll attend ~ABrownrigg's Freeborn panel 9-10 which I'm also the most excited for! Ugh so much excitement; what's with all the werewolf stuff!? Either way it makes me super happy. I'm actually going to get something out of my A-kon badge this year!

SATURDAY: ~ABrownrigg's Improv Comedy Class 5:00-6:30... because I'm dying to get in on the Freeborn project and I think this would be an extremely smart (and fun) move towards that goal. HOWEVER this seems to really interfere with the costume contest. I *might* be able to pop in for the very beginning of the improv panel and then run over to the cosplay contest but I don't want to push it too much. Depending on how tired we are after the contest, I may go watch Repo the Generic Opera at 11pm-3am because I've been wanting to see that movie.

SUNDAY: Pokémon Photoshoot outside in the Cancer Park at 10 am. Might check out the Voice Actor's Cold Read 4:30-6:30, because why the hell not. Yes ~ABrownrigg will be there again, so it's another chance to work with him. There's not much else to do Sunday otherwise.

As far as planned appearances for cosplay, I will be discussing plans with my Kabutops partner for our ancient Pokémon appearance and I'll just be Groudon's handler whenever ~ScratchingSouls feels like going out in him. I might arrange something with ~Monoyasha if she's bringing Minccino and Emolga. Otherwise Friday plans are still up in the air as I do have a lot of events going on, but we may take Groudon out sometime between 4-8pm on Friday.

However I do have a set plan for Saturday: I will take Groudon to be judged in the Hallway contest room and attempt to sign up for one of the ten on site walk-on slots. Registration opens at 10am so I want to be there RIGHT on time... meaning Rek has quite a trip over there getting stopped for photos and hugs so we'll try to leave our hotel room at 9am. After judging and/or contest sign-up we'll most likely continue to walk around since we've already bothered to suit her up and are already out on the floor. You would be most reliably able to catch Groudon Saturday somewhere in the 9am-noon timeframe as it depends on how Rek feels. Then we'll be off to the foodcourt for lunch. We'll have her rest after lunch until it is cosplay contest time. You will see Groudon if you attend the cosplay contest and of course we will stick around a little bit after the contest.

The other time you should be able to catch Groudon is the Pokémon Photoshoot Sunday 10am-11. This is outside in the Cancer Survivor's Plaza (under the skybridge that connects the ice rink mall and the hotel). And then we might walk around some more afterwards depending because it'll be DAMN HOT and we might not feel up to that right away. I might be Aerodactyl if Kabutops joins me for this.

SO YEAH! Told you it was a much-needed update, so much needed to be said. Hopefully I remembered to cover everything but if not expect some edits or something. I must now go back to homework, have a good night!

Portfolio: Phase 1

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 11, 2012, 2:27 AM

And the madness begins!

What madness you ask? Why the final stretch of my animation student career and the Art Institute of Colorado kind of madness.

Granted my graduation date is 9 months out, but nonetheless I have begun the process of addressing my final portfolio, demo reel, and animated short. Whew. I'm mentally prepared to face A LOT of work in the coming months. The most obvious supplement of my portfolio was revealed to you guys at the beginning of the month- my 2012 costumery project of Theod the raptor-alien. Or alien raptor? What sounds better? Whatever, we'll just call him a raptor for simplicity.

So Theod will play a major role in my portfolio, if not be the focus of my animated short itself. I will of course keep you all updated on the major Theod-related news on deviantART, but one thing I am striving to do with this project is to keep a sort of journal/project tracker/log/blog that covers the minor things as well. This will only be found on my WordPress blog. The address for that being caninehybrid.wordpress.com. Every thought, idea, update, picture, and video related to my portfolio project as a whole will be documented there for those who are interested in following the project. The reason I'm doing this is because my teacher has assigned us to blog about our projects- which I think is a great idea anyways.

I am going to warn you now that in terms of the Theod costume project, there WILL be some trade secrets involved and out of respect for the masterminds behind helping me bring this project to life, I will be strategically documenting the build process as to preserve some of that mystery. Don't worry, I'll still be taking oodles of pictures and hosting regular Livestream sessions like always, but if I tell you that I cannot disclose how a certain technique was achieved, please don't ask me about it further. Thank you for understanding.

Of course Twitter/Facebook will give you the most timely updates about everything, but by now you should know all about how to effectively stalk me so I won't advertise it further! XD

Phase 1

So each "phase" of my portfolio, as I call it, refers to how the classes are structured: the first class that I am taking now being pre-production. This is all the storyboarding, shot list, music, sfx, character design, planning, production schedule, etc etc are developed and put into an animatic at the end of the quarter. Naturally phase 2 is production, which is where I finish my costume, start filming, modeling, rigging, texturing, animating, etc to get the bulk of my project produced. Phase 3 wraps up my final three months at the art institute with the post-production stage where I polish everything up, composite everything together, and end up with a finished piece to graduate with so I'll go make lots of money. Or at least that's the idea anyways.

This means the Theod costume has to be done rather quickly if I want to be on top of this. Not to mention I have to start looking for an internship for next quarter. As if I had enough to deal with in my life right? On top of the school stuff I still have the Charizard partial to finish and commissions to catch up on. Once again my offer stands if you'd like a refund for your commission and you are tired of waiting, please let me know.

That'll do it for now, catch you later!

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 12, 2012, 5:05 AM

Woo!

Riley has earned the achievement "being in existence for 22 years"

So yeah, the internet makes it VERY OBVIOUS TO YOU ALL that today is my birthday... so I doubt you need to hear it again. But my previous journal was just so long, I've been looking forward to putting up something new here. So first off, thank you thank you to everyone who has sent such warm wishes my way today. I really appreciate all your kind words and for thinking of me so. You guys are awesome

Artwork feature time! ASDFGHJKL

Updated as I run across them

Oh oh! And you gaaaiiis. Look at what ~Koosh-Ball got for me!

Updates

I'm officially back in school now with all night classes, down to only 3 classes a quarter, and only one year left before I graduate! That means internship hunting and portfolio development is right around the corner- annnd that means some super exciting stuff for you guys. I will be focusing nearly all my time on some big fancy smansy projects to make me look like a cool dudett that you'd want as an employee in your animation company *dons kick-ass shades*

So when the heck are you going to work on costumes/Livestream again?? Soon. Verrry soon. I've mentioned it several times before but this next costume project is going to be unlike anything I've attempted in terms of both subject matter (not a Pokémon this time!) and construction methods. I have been doing so much behind the scenes preparation for it I seriously have been dying to reveal it to you guys for months. But I am sticking true to my original plans and waiting. What am I waiting for you ask? Well there's a very special item in the mail that I will be using for this project I need to receive before showing you guys what I've been scheming over here. This should be happening in February- so I'll certainly keep you posted.

Once I get into the new swing of the school year over here I should be getting through some more commissions (and I have a lot of other surprise art along the way) That's all for now! Have an awesome 2012 everybody!

Oh and I've been really addicted to playing League of Legends. Joining me are ~ReyTiger, *SorinCrecens, ~Koosh-Ball, ~Ceil ~sgtknifeman, ~BladeTiger and a bunch of other friends. Expect fan art. Crazy Holiday Times Ahead

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 28, 2011, 7:17 PM

Taking Back the Spirit

(*Draga03's posted this. Original from ~MadPrinceFeanor, modified here)

Black Friday... The day after we're supposed to find reasons to be thankful comes the most materialistic day of all time. Also it sucks working retail like I do. So...I'm taking it back for the spirit of giving and random acts of kindness.

Starting right away, anyone who wants to participate, keep a list of some things you might want in your journal.  This is NOT a Secret Santa trade!  Inevitably people end up getting jacked with Secret Santas. This is totally volunteer based, the if-you're-inspired kind of gift giving. Your list can be specific or general. These can be very serious items to wacky, just-for-fun stuff.  Anything you want really!  If you want tangible items, know you may be required to give someone your address.

Now that these are spreading around DA, as you peruse others' journals this holiday season, if you come across someone else's list and you are inspired to get them something on their list, great!  What will you get in return?  The very humanitarian knowledge that you were able to do something for someone else that made them happy. Karma may pay you back in other ways too ;p  If you do post your own list like I have here, it'd be nice if you would do at least one thing off someone else's too, in the spirit of the season!

    So, TL;DR version is:
  1. Post list of things you would like this holiday season

  2. Spread the love and consider getting others something on their lists

  3. Reap good karma

Simple.

If you're looking for some of my friend's wishlists, POOF:

The Spirit Within!

I want to commend the following deviants for their generosity and holiday spirit

:iconcassinicloset:

Cassini has been stacking up on good karma like no other! Not only did she give me a handmade Theod plushie, ~ScratchingSouls a drawing of her character mink, and donated *Draga03 some fleece, but good karma rewarded her with a recent Daily Deviation on her Bowser costume! Congratulations!

:iconserrina:

Serrina has gone out of her way to dedicate an entire journal entry about my work, even going to lengths to describe what she admires about the pieces she deems my best artwork! Thank you so much for this- hearing such wonderful and personal things about my artwork and how you feel about it means so much to me

CanineHybrid Pimpage [Journal Feature]Part of the totally-inspired gift-giving journal thingy...
I don't have much and my skills with my tablet and its computer program are lame, so I decided to go with one of the more easy gifts that :iconCanineHybrid: put on her wishlist ^-^
*1- Best deviation in Gallery
http://caninehybrid.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4g8ypo
I really like this piece!
I like card games like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. because of the character designs, but I like Pokemon best because the Pokemon are just normal animals! People own them as pets, trainers ride them, and they get to bond with them!
I'd totally LOVE to own an Arbok, Persian, or Blazken TT~TT
I picked this picture as the Best deviation in the Gallery because it's very well developed; such detail went into the Feraligatr, Aerodactyl, and her character. There aren't very many detailed/background pictures in her Gallery, but this one definitely stands out.
Urgh, I envy her drawing skills and I envy the Japanese! Why draw awesome creatures that don't exi

:iconfiremaster13:

Julie surprised the heck out of me when I saw this pop up in my inbox! As part of a holiday group picture that featured many of her friends, I was honored and blown away to see Riley counted among them. What an awesome and perfect gift: I love the heck out of it  edit Also THEOD SEXINESS <3 <3 <3

:iconphaeus-wolf: gave me this!

:icontoxicasylum: totally surprised me with this

:iconequigoyle: finished this commission for me out of the blue in time for the holidays! Awesome surprise!

:iconquilavaqueen: gifted me with this artworkness:

:thumb276349522:

:icondaemonocam: drew both Koosh and I together in this adorable picture

:iconrajewel: gave me an awesome gift of a kiriban sketch I was actaully runner-up in, but was kind enough to draw for me anyways

:iconnighttwilightwolf: made me go ASDFGHJKLFfgsdgaohmygawwwd with this super awesomenss: also did one for all my friends! Koosh and I go together even!

:iconmariannj: made and sent me an awesome black and blue costume tail, that is so cute and fluffy! Thank you thank you!

:iconaltairsky: sent me an x-mas card all the way from Italy with a surprise and kick-ass drawing of Theod inside! OMG super awesome (with happy squeaks)!!

As for standard xmas presents, my parents got me a Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket phone and a screen calibrator, my brother :iconreytiger: got me South Park season 4, and my boyfriend :iconkoosh-ball: got me a T-rex Squishable, a gaming mouse, and a tiltpod for my camera.

Let me know if you're not listed on here yet, I think I have a few more things coming through the mail I haven't gotten yet (checking post office tomorrow). Also if you wanted to really get me something and feel like you missed your chance, no worries because my birthday is in a few days lol! XDD But no seriously, I totally don't mind getting gifts at any time- they are always appreciated and loved. Thank you to everyone and their generosity! I shall not forget it ;p

Shenanigans

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 22, 2011, 9:12 AM

Clickity clack

Typing things into my keyboard is fun!

So next week, if you're a local to Denver, you have the opportunity to catch Groudon in action- armed with a camera, ~ArcanineIce and I will take Fred out into the city for some shenanigans. That's right- SHENANIGANS! :U

Yes of COURSE it'll be put on YouTube sillies.

Fred will also make an appearance at the local Howl-o-ween event so if you know what that is and you're attending, awesome! See you there :3

OH YEAH

Today is Zombie Crawl in downtown Denver! We're gonna break the world record again I'm sure. I'm going as a l4d hunter, to match ~ArcanineIce. I tried to dye a gray hoodie I bought darker blue... buuttt silly me it's a poly blend so I didn't buy enough dye to get it dark enough. Oh well. I'll just have to dye it again another time. I'm gonna go paint it with blooood now. And hope that my makeup turns out ok too. I get to go to class as a zombie! Ha! (I have a Saturday class :/) ~Koosh-Ball is even driving to spend the day down here (he's going to school 5 hours away)

In other news, yeah I'm back in school again so that, combined with more hours at work from the holiday season starting up at Jo~Anns, eats ALL my free time >< Which is as I feared making it even harder to get anywhere with commissions. It's all "get up, go to school, go straight to work after, come home, eat, stay up till 3am doing homework, sleep, repeat." Ugh.

But I am doing coolio stuff this quarter. Like playing in the motion capture studio (we have one of Vicon's systems). And learning rigging (hopefully). And got some super cool and secret personal projects coming up I'm totally excited about and can't wait to share with you all. My lips are sealed for now.

And I am like super low on money right now all of a sudden... it sucks. A lot. I'm really struggling this month so I'm selling a few things on eBay. Only a few up right now as it's still being worked in, but I might put some more Pokémon stuff there soon. [link]

That's really all I can come up with right now, though I'm sure I'll think of more later. How's everyone's life lately?

Handling Commissions

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 25, 2011, 5:34 PM

Important for anyone commissioning me!

First sorry that this journal is long and wordy. But if you have commissioned me it's important you know what's going on because this journal affects you. At least read the bolded stuff please - I bolded the important info for the skimmers so do take advantage of that.

In the past I've struggled with motivation. Some days I can get myself out of bed or pull myself away from the internet to sit down and do what I need to do. The idea of drawing things for other people sounds fun, but I found it very hard to do for free requests; so I thought money would be enough motivation to get to me perform and get things done in a timely manner. Well turns out it doesn't... money doesn't motivate me all that much because I don't put a high enough importance on it. I'm in debt because I'm not good at realizing the importance of money. But I can't support myself on just my job alone, so there has become a need for constant commissions. I just end up burning myself out creatively when I feel overwhelmed- which I do nearly every day.

I learned that my mistake was biting off more than I could chew, and now that my already impacted to-do list has been stuffed with more and more tasks through commissions, I get even less shit done. Every time I look at my to-do list my heart sinks and I do something else to get my mind off it. The joy of finishing an item on my to-do list only lasts for a very short while- because as I go to cross it off, I feel like I haven't even made a dent in the list of things to do when I take a look at what I have to do next... which is very unhelpful in my current state. But I can't help it. I can't look at it any other way.

So long story short here, I would like to apologize to everyone who has asked me for a commission and I have yet to complete it. Some people it's been a month, to others it's been over 4 years. This is terribly naive, and not to mention unprofessional, of me to have let myself become carried away with thinking I could open the floodgates of commissions and keep my head above water. I will not be taking any more commissions until my current list is gone- so please don't ask when I'll be opening them again or for any quotes right now. I'm closed.

I have come to realize that I cannot properly handle commissions in my life right now with my time about to be consumed even further by my final year at college. I have so many HUGE projects to concentrate on for my portfolio, I anticipate everything else may go on the backburner. This is extremely unfair to my friends and clients who have been waiting on art for so long. I've been experimenting with the best ways to handle commissions since I started offering them since 2007... and so far I haven't gotten it quite right. I have one week left before I go back to school- I want to make the most of that time, but I'm also terrible about making plans and sticking to them. So who knows what will happen this week or how many commissions I realistically get through? Once school starts I don't know how much time I'll have for non-school stuff.

But I'm sure the biggest problem is that I've been taking way too many at a time. I've experimented in changing the way I handled commissions by having a table in the dealer's room at RMFC and it taught me a lot. I perform better if I only have a few slots open at a time like I do over those convention weekends... and that I don't open any more slots or keep a waiting list until all my current work is completed. I need to see how well I take care of the entire process I'm trying to implement before I feel that I can handle a waitlist. So as a heads up I'm going to be revising my Terms of Service soon. A lot of figuring this whole thing out is is anticipation for taking on costume commissions in the best way possible.

What this means for you guys

If your commission is listed here on my commission queue [link] then you will remain on the list unless you asked to be removed. If you're on the list it means I've already made a promise to you that I would get your commission finished and will continue to hold that promise.

However I can no longer promise to anyone, anytime, that I will get said commission done by any said date. I simply can't work that way at this time in my life. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE (and for the love of god something I really need to change) but for now I will leave it like this. The Groudon project painfully showed me this most severely- but every single one of my personal costume projects have always been last minute, rush jobs, that barely make the convention deadlines. I have not had big deadlines with normal art commissions yet, but I want to avoid that altogether starting here and now. No more deadline promises from me. Period. Too many unforeseen variables pop up in my life from the time I accept a deadline to the time a deadline comes for me to adequately get something done. At this point in time I will not be accepting larger payments for rush orders either. I cannot properly accept orders with short deadlines right now.

FOR ALL CURRENT COMMISSIONERS: If you would like to remove yourself off my commission list, please let me know. I completely understand if you would no longer like to wait or want your money back. A few people have done this already. You don't have to feel bad about it nor do you need to worry about how I will react to your request. In a way, removing yourself from my to-do list would be a big relief for me because I no longer have to worry about it. The less I have to do, the better things will be for me right now and the less you have to worry about ever seeing your artwork finished.

If you have not paid for your commissions and are simply on a waiting list, removing you is as simple as a click of a button. If you are looking for a commission again in the future, keep in mind that you will get no special treatment or priority by having been on the list before and will have to nab a slot like everyone else.

If you have paid for your commission, you are still welcome to cancel the commission request and I will refund your payment in full. I will not be able to do this right away because I need to wait until the 1st of October, but after that date, I will return your money as soon as you request it.

How to contact me about commissions

One final BIG change is that I will no longer be accepting deviantART notes on my CanineHybrid account regarding commissions. I currently have 331 unread notes here. I am doing my best to go through them all, organizing and responding, but this is a most painful task when I'm bogged down with so many. (Man I need a secretary). Also my emails are flooded with random crap and spam and stuff I really have no energy to go through on top of my DA, FA, YouTube, Facebook, etc messages to find the important ones.

You want to contact me? I can not guarantee you'll be able to get a reply from me in a timely manner at the moment because everyone else is trying to talk to me too from every direction at once. I highly recommend that you DON'T try to email me right now in attempt to get me to respond quicker than here on DA- emails are probably in the worst state of organization actually . I'm at high risk to lose track of everything. I have been trying to be a lot better about my DA notes first, but I can only concentrate on patching up so many areas I'm struggling with at a time. This doesn't mean I'm treating my CanineHybrid account's notes and messages as any more or less important that the rest of my messages across the internet, I am simply going to be trying a new way to help separate business stuff from personal stuff in attempt to be more organized... and here's how:

I'm going to be utilizing my alternate account, ~K9Hybrid, as a commission contact account now. All my commissions are done through DA for the moment, so I'll keep notes to my K9hybrid account as my primary method of discussing commission info. If you send me a commission note to my CanineHybrid account it may be ignored, lost, or looked over. I may send you a message about forwarding it to my K9hybrid account if I happen to see it in my crazy pile of notes here, but otherwise I won't be able to respond to it on this account for the sake of organization. I'll just lose track of it again. I am changing my TOS and FAQ to reflect this, as well as finishing the update to my commission information journal, today to let people know that you should not contact me about commissions on this account anymore because of the high chance I will not see it among the clutter of random daily notes. If it's important, I want to be able to see it right away. So again:

ALL messages regarding commissions must be sent as a note to my ~K9Hybrid account, NOT my =CanineHybrid one.

Yes, this will include any notes you may send about changing or canceling your commission with me. Yes this includes asking about my prices, quotes, opening dates, TOS, etc etc. If it has to do with commissions or my CanineHybrid Creations business, send it to ~K9Hybrid. The only exception to this is the wavy icons- those are a collaboration with *Starmuttani and have always been handled through our #AwesomeWaves joint account/group. If you have a question about wavy icons, it would be best to send it to #AwesomeWaves so both Ani and I see it. Also you're more than welcome to cancel wavy icon commissions too.

On the flip side, if you send anything to ~K9Hybrid that is NOT directly commission or business related (asking for costume help, wanting to chat with me, etc) then I'll message you saying that this account isn't the appropriate place to send those types of notes and ask if you could re-send it to my main =CanineHybrid account instead. I will not be forwarding messages back and forth between my accounts for you either, it is your responsibility to re-send the note to the correct account. If you're serious about a commission, you'll be serious about following my commission rules and TOS too.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions that are specifically about this journal, please comment below so I'll see your message. Don't note me about it unless you're a commissioner (and you should know by now which account to send the note to if you've been paying attention... but if you're in doubt, just ask here in the journal).

NDK Plans and Such

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 9, 2011, 5:20 AM

Convention time! Again!

I'm still never prepared for anything :/ But here it is already.

I've planned to not get sleep for 24+ hours since I'm working to get everything ready in time. Mostly that involves finishing Groudon, cleaning my house for guests, and of course working on the panel presentation. So here's an update to let you know what's going on!

NDK Madness

First up, the giant-ass list of all my friends and other cool people I know and love who are attending this year! 16 of them are staying at my house (good gawd) and we're carpooling each day to the hotel.

People I chill with:

:iconkoosh-ball::iconscratchingsouls::iconsgtknifeman::iconleap207::iconreytiger::iconsaiyai::icondraga03::iconwingsofsmoke::iconskaros444::iconsorincrecens:

People I hope to see and/or chill with too:

:iconplaid-pichu::iconbladetiger::icondi-chan::iconrikuloiid::iconsexy-neji::icontaintedtamer::iconequine-draconis::iconshawnspeters::iconmist-fox::iconarcanineice::iconyanguchitzure::iconshadofang7::iconstraylightrevelation::iconmousetalon::iconpsychoticvampghost::iconnemisis47::iconblue-nodachi::iconfeatheredcritter:

Photoshoots/Event

Here's a list of events I HOPE to be attending. Nothing's guaranteed except for the panel we're hosting,

  • [Friday] "I've Got a Feeling" music video 4pm-6pm. --- "How to light up your costume" panel 6pm @ Iris. --- Shadow Lugia for Pokémon photoshoot 7pm Starbucks. --- Leafeon for Pajama Party 8:30pm photoshoot area.

  • [Saturday] "Wigs 101" panel- 11am @ Blanca Peak. --- deviantART meet- 1:30pm outside. --- 2:30 "Sewing 101" panel @ Iris. --- Groudon for cosplay contest 4:30pm-10pm.

  • [Sunday] "Sewing 201" panel 10am @ Blanca Peak. --- Hosting "Creature Costuming" panel with ~sgtknifeman- Noon @ Larkspur.

Costumes you can catch me wearing: Shadow Lugia, Leafeon, Shadow Lugia hoodie, Riley hat, "trainer" for Groudon (worn by ~ScratchingSouls)

Important Happenings!

I'm gonna repeat this a few times over but Tom and I are hosting a panel this year at NDK! This is our first panel ever and it's about Creature Costuming: from design, to construction, to performance, we'll cover how you can get started on a project like my Pokémon costumes.

It's a beginner's panel, 90min long, and we'd love if you would come or spread the word to your friends! Unfortunately there was some mix up and a description of our panel did not make it into the printed conbook... which is why I'm promoting it so much. ^^ We will be recording it for upload to YouTube as soon as the convention's over so no one will miss out. More info here:

Who else will be going? Please feel free to come say hi if you're there!

Art Stuff

Well obviously, Groudon's being finished this weekend. Look forward to all sorts of photos and videos real soon. I am starting on a few other costume-related projects quite soon afterwards so you'll have to stay tuned to see what I'm up to.

Once the con is out of the way, I'll be going back to wrapping up the commissions I took at Rocky Mountain Fur Con and crossing them off my to-do list.

Then it's back to regular commissions- wavy icons and headshots mostly- to get as caught up as I can before I start the next quarter at school October 3rd.

And lastly, I'd like to promote some artists... First is my boyfriend ~Koosh-Ball's artwork- because he's offering an amazing deal of full-body anthro sketches, for only $5. Limited time offer though, so I totally think you should jump on that. He's of course doing normal commissions too. Check it out!

:iconkoosh-ball:

Second coolio artist is my friend *NightTwilightWolf. Most of you know her as the Shiny Umbreon from our Eeveelution cosplay group, and she did Chibiterasu from Okami this year. Well she's a great artist too! And has finally opened up for a commission slots. Her prices start at $5 flat colored chibis and get awesomer from there. Do take a look at her stuff.

Rocky Mountain Fur Con

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 2, 2011, 11:19 PM

Convention time!

Whelp, here we go: one of the busiest times of the year for me. I'm currently getting ready for next weekend's convention, Rocky Mountain Fur Con, and I'm plenty stressed, excited, and bleh about things at the same time. I'm never prepared for anything :/

RMFC Meme

Stole this from =FireMaster13, heheheh.

Where are you staying? At my house; I don't stay at the hotel for local cons anymore.

What day are you getting there? Friday- most likely around 10-11am

Who will you be with? Primarily will be with my boyfriend :iconkoosh-ball:Koosh, my brother :iconreytiger:Rey, and my oldest friend :iconscratchingsouls:Rek. Friends :iconsgtknifeman:Tom and :iconleap207:Lea along with :iconstarmuttani:Ani,  her boyfriend :iconhappyhuginn:Geoff, :iconredvarg:Alee, and :iconthodragonfire:Jenna. Maybe :iconarcanineice:Tasha will show up too and of course :iconskaros444:Skaros will be there. I don't mean to leave anyone out- remind me if I missed you.

Do you do free art? Most likely not- reserved only for extremely close friends when I have free time. Hahaha free time!?

Do you do trades? Yes, I'll gladly do a trade with a fellow artist.

Do you have an artist table? You bet! I'm listed as being in slot #A9, back left corner next to :iconnightengaleneedles: Nightengale Needles. See the map: [link]

Will you have art in the Art Show? Not this year, but I'd like to participate in the future.

Do you do commissions? That's what I'm there for! This is only time I'll be taking new commissions for the rest of the year, so nab one while you can. Look below for a list of what I'll be offering.

What types of payment do you accept? Cash is preferred please, but we can discuss other payment options such as money order or Paypal.

What are your limits to drawing? I will not draw porn or fetishes, I highly discourage asking for humans, machines, and backgrounds. Anthro or feral of most any species is what I'm most interested in- nudity is fine.

Do you do badges? Yup indeed I do! Still looking into lamination options at this point however.

What is your gender? Bitch. As is female dog guys ;p

How tall are you? 5' 6"ish

How can I find you? Look for the girl with the GSD ear-hat or Shadow Lugia hoodie behind the table. Full schedule is listed below. Send @CanineHybrid messages through Twitter if you want to find me anytime during the con too; I'll respond.

Can I talk to you? Please do! Doesn't have to be on topic about anything, I'll gladly carry on a conversation- but do be courteous to others interested in my work and give them a chance to talk and view my table. I find it a lot harder to talk while I'm working, so forgive me if I ask you to come back later and we can continue talking at another time if I'm too busy.

Can I touch you? Handshakes and high fives are awesome, hugs are great if you ask.

Can I hug or snuggle with you? Ask for hugs (I'll never say no, but like a warning) -snuggling is reserved for Koosh only. Oh and Rey too.

Can I buy you drinks? I am officially 21 this year but dislike alcohol. Mt. Dew, Monster Energy, and Starbucks Café Vanilla Frappuccinos are better than alcohol any day.

Can I ask you to dance? You'll have to ask Koosh first, otherwise I'm cool with it! We'll be at the rave, most likely Saturday night.

Attending parties? Not a party-goer, don't know people to party with anyways.

Are you nice? Too nice.

Where will you be most of the time during the days? Stuck at the table.

What/where will you be eating? Anything in the area- IHOP, Panda Express, whatever else my group and I feel like doing.

Can I look in your sketchbook? I won't be bringing my sketchbook because I don't have one- I dislike how much they smudge drawings.

Can I draw in your sketchbook? I'm going to be purchasing a sketchbook/guestbook for the con, definitely encourage you to draw or write something in it!

Can I take your picture? I'm a camera whore at cons, in or out of suit. Har har "I'm ready for my closeup!" (though hopefully I'm not THAT bad.)

Convention Plans

Commissions: I'll be open for unlimited outside-con commission slots, but I'll take a few at-con ones as well. Both digital and traditional sketches, ink, flat color, cell and full shade. Headshot or full body badges, ACEOs and "A4" (sketchbooks/letter paper size) as well as digital icons (normal and wavy arms), and new this year: custom pinback buttons! Ask if you want something else I'm not offering standard and I can probably do it. Bonus discounts for Pokémon-related requests and even more discounts if you bring your Pokéwalker too. And like last year, doing custom costume ears (outside-con only). Koosh may be offering some commissions slots as well :3

Con Schedule: (So you can stalk me)

I will be attending all 3 days. I'll be in the dealer's room during operating hours Friday 12pm - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 5pm. However I'll be trying to attend a few events so you may catch me there too: Friday 7pm "Fursuit Construction". Saturday 11am "Fursuit Parade",  3pm "Howling at the Moon",  4pm "Pokemonapaloza", 5pm "Introduction to Therian", and 9pm "Figure Modeling".

Aiming to finish Groudon in time for the fursuit parade. Rek will probably be walking around as Fred (Groudon) occasionally, and I may be her handler some of the time. I will be wearing Shadow Lugia for the parade.

Who else will be going? Please feel free to come say hi if you're there!

A Bundle of Awesome

Stuff and Things

Quite a lot has happened since my last journal it seems. Here's a bunch of updates you may care to know about.

Lake Powell: I recently returned from a timeshare houseboat vacation to Lake Powell, UT- my favorite place on earth. I took well over 2,000 photos and upload 15 or so to Facebook once I sort them all out. This was the first time we stayed for 2 weeks and I went with my family (mom/dad ~AerilynKores and ~ReyTiger) as well as my sister's boyfriend Mike, my boyfriend ~Koosh-Ball, and some old family friends. It was a blast. So many crazy antics and stories I could share... maybe one day I'll get around to editing all my vacation videos to YouTube like I keep planning to do.

A-kon Speaking of uploading YouTube videos, now that my computer's been reloaded again and I'm on an extended summer break (taking a quarter off) I should be able to finish editing and uploading the videos of all the Shadow Lugia vs normal Lugia, and Monoyasha's Toothless stuff. Some of it is already up on my Flickr here. Thanks to the wonderful *Starmuttani for the video footage, you'll FINALLY have some videos for you to watch of my Shadow Lugia costume in action. Gonna work on this today. We had a excellent time at A-kon overall and I'm sure next year will be even more spectacular and with more costume epicness.

The Koosh Oh mai, what could have possibly happened to the Koosh? Well I figure it was worth mentioning that we have been together now for a year and our anniversary was last Friday, the 15th of July. We went to the Downtown Denver Aquarium restaurant and got to pet the stringrays for free afterwards . On top of that, it was also his birthday on Sunday, the 17th where he has turned the grand old age of the markings of adulthood at 21 years old. I got him a bunch of stuff from our favorite site, ThinkGeek.com and had a great weekend.

Love you :iconkoosh-ball:!

Convention Plans

The next thing on my list this year is the local furry convention Rocky Mountain Fur Con. Like last year, I will have a art table set up in the dealer's room... I'm located in the back left corner right next to ~NightengaleNeedles (Nightengale Needles) at table #2. I'm still unsure what all I will be selling this year and I'm open for ideas; my new poll reflects this. I figure I will mostly be taking commissions (most of which will be completed outside of the con) so if you're a local and have been looking for a chance to snag a commission from me, this will be your ONLY chance to do so for most likely the rest of this year. Depending how much work I take on that weekend since I've got plenty to do as it is over my summer break.

I have about a 50/50 chance of going to an additional con this year the first week of September: AnimeFest in TX. I'll most likely be deciding on my final plans before the end of this month so I'll keep you posted.

Lastly, the Creature Costuming panel that ~sgtknifeman and I proposed for Nan Desu Kan was accepted and we attended a panel meeting with the Events Director yesterday! I will let you know when and where it will be held as SOON as they inform us of this info. As you might have guessed, our Creature Costuming panel is an examination of the processes involved with the creation of non-human characters for cosplay. An overview of concept design, techniques, materials, tools, and character performance will be covered. Tell your friends, spread the word to locals and people you know are going or who would in interested in attending something like this. It's going to be a whole lot of information you won't want to miss... but in case you do or aren't attending the con, we will be recording video of the panel and posting it online. We'll be working hard on putting it together and as always are looking for more visuals, suggestions, tips, and advice you can offer us. Don't be afraid to speak up!

Art Projects

Yes as usual I have a never-ending list of things I hope to get done. Here are a few of the big ones.

Riley's Pokémon costume project 2012 Like always, I plan to add a new Pokémon-related creation to my portfolio and next year won't be any exception... planning has gone underway and I'm about 30% done with the concept art at this point. I like to one-up myself with each new project so I foresee this being most challenging. No, you don't get to know what it is now... but I will be offering hints as time passes until it's fully revealed. It's fun to play the guessing game, no? :> First hint will be announced quite soon- I'm just trying to think of the best way to start releasing hints... I'm thinking I'll submit a deviation and update it as more clues are added. Sound good to you guys?

Groudon Took him to A-kon, worked about half the time I had available at the hotel, and got to about 90% completion.... just those last little things and then I can put him all together and call it good. Honestly needs a good 3 days or so of work for a proper finish. So I'll be streaming this week, Thursday from the looks of it, and you'll get to see all I've been up to since the con. One day will be all for finishing the bodysuit I suspect and I want to get all the few remaining sewing work out of the way asap so I can return the machine I'm borrowing from ~Sanyai (thank you btw!) Then it's just the last stretch of bringing the pieces together. So close now. He will be at RMFC for the parade and in the cosplay contest for NDK. Promise!

Artwork I have free time (well not really) that I'll be using for drawing and streaming and catching up on owed art as well as getting ready for RMFC. Next up are some headshot sketches then it's back to some wavy icons. I'll be flip flopping on those so I don't get too bored of them. Maybe some personal art here and there. Who knows?

OH YEAH! And I know why my internet sucks... called Comcast today and they claimed I have an older router that doesn't support the demand of my high speed connection- resulting in intermittent connection. Uhhh you think you could have told me sooner!? Not wait for me to complain? Well the guy's coming out tomorrow, just in time for my streaming day. Also been playing Terraria a little thanks to ~Ceil, tis fun. If you made it this far in reading my journal, I may be streaming some artwork at other times throughout the week but won't be announcing it. You'll just have to pop over and check yourself. Kay that's all! Thanks for reading and stopping by my DA today :3

Convention Time

It's here already!? FFFFFF

Too much to do!

.......TOO MUCH TO DO! :U

A-kon 22

You should know this by now, but my friends and I are taking a big road trip down to Dallas, Texas for A-kon: the longest-running anime convention in the United States. It'll be my 4th year attending now and it's quite a drive from Colorado... so we'll be leaving around midnight this Thursday (June 9th). After that, you won't see me on DA till we return some time Monday (June 13).

I will be wearing the Shadow Lugia costume, probably at least once every day, and I usually hang out on the first floor under the escalators with it on. If you want to know exactly when and where I'll be, feel free to follow my "CanineHybrid" Twitter that I will be using to keep in touch with the outside world about the convention occasionally. I'll post when I'm out and about in costume. Also will be attending any Pokémon or video game related photoshoots. Don't forget your Pokéwalker!

At this point the Groudon costume is right about 75% done... so we're taking it with us as is to see if we can't work on finishing the beast in the hotel room (like friggin ALWAYS <<). It's still up in the air if he'll make it out on the convention floor or not. I'll be sure to update you if that's gonna happen. Ani's Rayquaza will not be joining us this year. Kyogre might make it, but only if Groudon does.

I've gotten requests by several people to do a sort of vblog of our times at the convention... have people follow me around with the camera, record random goings-on, talking to the lens about nothing special. That sort of thing. So I figured I'd try to give it a shot. I'm not too good with remembering to whip out my camera at cons, despite how often I use it in daily life and that I carry it with my everywhere. But if I do end up doing it, you may not see the footage for awhile- it'll have to be edited.

List of Attendees!

If you're on this list, means I know you and that you're coming to A-kon. If you'd like to be added to this list, let me know asap. I have a poor memory (not helping that it's been almost 24 hours since I slept) so if you spot me at the convention, don't be afraid to come say hi and let me know who you are.

Costuming input!

I'm finally getting together a panel submission request out to my local convention so I can teach others about how to make creature costumes... but it's a hellva lot of work. I need the help of anyone and everyone I can get! *panics*

So what can you do?

How to help

First off if you have any experience in making costumes (I don't care if you've only made one and it sucked) please feel free to inform me what sort of invaluable lessons you've learned along the way, what you wish you knew starting out, and any suggestions to me about how to run my panel or what to cover. If you haven't made any costumes or have questions for those who do or any other suggestions, please send them my way! Please comment on this journal if you have anything to add. I did post a poll earlier this month asking for input... but the more I have the better. Can't hurt to ask again.

I am in need of example pictures and references. I have only made a few costumes and it's simply not enough to cover what is necessary to properly demonstrate certain aspects of costuming. Because I need to get permission from artists themselves, I first want to ask if anyone is willing to allow me use of their costume photos in my presentation.

I am in need of both good and bad examples of costumes. If you've made an absolutely horrible suit, by all means allow me to use it to show others what not to do XD I am most interested in any video game or anime creatures because this is for an anime convention... but other suits are totally fine too. Work in progress and finished pictures, including any concept art would be awesome. If I don't have enough content then I'll be going around to other artists asking them permission to showcase their art directly.

One last thing I'll be needing from you: an audience. In the next month or so after I've gotten most of my panel together, I am going to host a test-run of my panel over Livestream. It will be a virtual panel! This will give me the most accurate feeling of how it will run and what I need to improve on with immediate feedback from all of you. I may be splitting up my panel into several different areas because the concept of costuming is so broad. I'll announce when this will be and you're welcome to sit through the whole thing or pop in very so often. As a bonus you'll get to have your questions answered directly as there will be time for an Q&A.

I've also been asked by many people if I will be recording the real panel at the con. The answer is yes. However I can't broadcast it live because there's no free wi-fi service available on location. But I will stream it (and it will be saved as a recording) after the con is over so you can still watch whenever you'd like.

Oh and if you want to help further, I'd love some donations. All the donations I receive will be put towards printing out handouts for attendees. If 60 people show up, that's a LOT of printing to do and a lot out of my pocket (of course I'll make these handouts available to you guys online too). And if you're attending Nan Desu Kan, I'd love to see you there! If you have anything else you can offer me please do speak up. Thanks one and all!

Itttt's UPDATE TIME!

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 8, 2011, 1:39 AM

Rawr I'm a Dinosaur guyz!

This is the current state of the Groudon costume, in case you were wondering. I'll be putting up some photos on DA methinks, since I don't have any of my WIP stuff in my gallery. All WIPs go on my Flickr if you didn't know (link in left sidebar or here: [link]. But you should like totally watch a video of it in action (accompanied by *Starmuttani's Rayquaza) doing the CaramellDansen. Something may or may not be exciting about the very end... maybe. You'll have to find out for yourself.

Stuff and Things

Well school's back in session for me again. On top of an adjusted work schedule, I'm already swamped and I haven't even made it through week 1. << And I've get a few early morning classes, which means I can't stay up late working on stuff anymore which is just really gonna throw things off.

But yeah... every time I have some free work time, and if my homework load's not too crazy, I'll be streaming work on the Groudon costume. I really need to finish all the foaming and patterning and cutting fabric by the end of this month or sooner so May will be all about sewing sewing sewing. Also think I'm gonna upgrade the red fabric on Groudon to something better than fleece... probably the same stuff as his underbelly: which is a velour knit.

Voice of reason: And where are you going to get said money for this fabric?

... shhhhush

OH YEAH. And commissions. Gotta get cracking with those. I'll probably stream a few of them throughout the week. OH OH and I bought a new webcam! So I can actually pick it up and position it better and closer to what I'm working on and it will be in a widescreen format. :dummy:

Edit: WEBCAM GET! See the difference. Taste the difference.

All artwork I've received from others of my OCs, over 450 images: [link]

Riley

Riley is my main character, fursona, persona, avatar, online identity, and animalistic representation of myself. She is mated to ~Koosh-Ball [link]

German Shepherd Dog

Quadrupedal Forms

Standard- Riley as a reality-based German Shepherd Dog. She can still express emotion and talk but otherwise her physical form is unaltered. This is the purest representation of Riley and the form she is most often depicted in.

Halloween- A special mutation of Riley created for Halloween.

Prehistoric Riley- Riley as a dimentrodon.

Anthropomorphic

Hybrid- The second most common version of Riley, it is the anthropomorphic representation of myself that plays off of my username "CanineHybrid"... being that of both human and canine simultaneously. In this form she wears clothes and has a human-shaped body, but the rest of her is canine. She is always digitigrade and has more animal-like paws than human fingers.

Eon- A variation of Anthro Riley created for the collaborative story and RPG world of Eon. She has a completely new personality, different markings, and the power to summon and manipulate blue fire.

Were- A more beastly form of Riley. She is still very anthropomorphic but does not have as human-like of a body in she does in her anthro form. She is comfortable as both a quadruped and biped.

Kemonomimi- This is essentially Riley as a human but with the ears and tail of her canine form.

Human

Human- Riley as a human, or otherwise my real-life self exactly as I appear now.

Pokémon Trainer- Myself as a Trainer in the world of Pokémon.

Poké Forms

Grovyle Riley

Grovyle Riley is my Pokésona. She has the least amount of German shepherd dog traits in this form than any other.

Pokémon- Riley in a natural Groyvle form.

Anthro- Riley as an anthropomorphic Grovyle.

Pokémon Hybrids

These hybrids combine Riley and a said Pokémon. They are done entirely for fun and are more or less "unofficial", most of them correspond to the costumes I've created.

Eeveelution Riley- Riley as an Espeon. Also seen as a Leafeon.

Midnight Riley- Riley as a Shadow Lugia.

Theod

Theod is an Arnok, a theropod-based alien race, blah blah blah

*scribble scribble*

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 22, 2011, 4:25 PM

So yeah...

Doo eet nao beetches.

iScribbleness

So yeah, sometimes I want a break from life. So I made a new drawing board over on iscribble.net and wanted to know if any of you wanted to join me. I do pop in from time to time and was thinking about putting an updatable iScribble status on my front page and will announce it on my Twitter so you know when I'm on. Feel free to come and draw with me, without me, for seriousness or randomness... whatever you want.

What is iScribble?  It's a simple Flash-based drawing program where you can draw with other people in real-time on the same canvas. It's free and fun to mess around in but not particularly powerful (ie no pen pressure and small canvas). There's a chat system and drawing layers. Go try it out for yourself. Here's the handy FAQ guide to get you started on the site: [link]

How do I draw with you?  First have an iScribble account (or if not, go make one) and in the chatbox, type: "/whisper CanineHybrid" and then your message.

Ex:  /whisper CanineHybrid This is USERNAME from DA and I want to draw with you!

If you see me in the online user list, you can click my name and it'll automatically start the message for you too. As expected this will send me a direct message and I can then invite you to my drawing board. If I'm not online then I'll see your message when I log in. Or just comment on this journal telling me your iScribble username and I'll add you next chance I get.

It is a private board, so once you have been invited it will appear under the "Private" tab (it'll be green, not blue, and on the right hand side of the screen near the top). Simply click on it to enter and you should see all sorts of drawing time-laspes that will be very amusing to watch once we get a lot of drawings going on there.

If you  have any other questions or comments, just post them here. In case you're wondering I've been on the site for about 3 years or something and I'm a reg so we can publish drawings to the gallery. Hope to draw with you soon!

List of Peeps

So I can keep track of your usernames. Let me know if you don't want to be listed publicly. If you're on this list, you're invited.

...yeah I'm not creative in coming up with anything cool to do here.

What does one do at such a historic moment?

There is always celebrating with cake...

And dancing. And skipping class! And giving me money! Whee! :dummy:

EDIT: AND WE HAVE A WINNER! ...or more like two THREE!?. It happens often they'll be more than one winner when SO many people are refreshing at once, I remember catching a kiriban once that was shared amongst 5 people. Crazy crazy deviants.

Anyways congrats to :iconhowlingwolf201::icongimpbeater::iconthreehorn:! I'll tell you what you won... as soon as I decide what that will be |D

Dinosaur Day!

*insert awesome guitar solo*

[link] [link]

Today (or I guess about an hour ago now) was the official "Draw a Dinosaur Day"! So I have officially contributed to that, finishing within 3 minutes of midnight... thus you get Theod pulling off some sweet air guitar. Because dinosaurs wearing headphones is just plain badass. Btw, contribute to dinotasticness and I'll feature your art here!

>>>drawadinosaurday.com<<<

Art art art

Anyhow, I'm going to be busy busy busy this quarter with a big animation project I'm involved with for Production Team class with ~redvarg, ~Angel-Equinox, and Tyler. The project is based off a Zuni legend on how Coyote and Eagle steal the Sun and the Moon. I may put up some concept art and animation samples here in a few days/weeks so you can see what's up with that. Alee's already got some of it in her gallery (go look!)

I'm also in an advanced lighting and texturing class, so if I get anything decent out of that, I'll post. I may start doing more LiveJournal/Tumblr art updates... because that's what professionals do now days. Would anyone care? I'll post a poll.

And last but not least about commissions... I'm slowly working on them when I can afford to make the time. I'm enjoying the icons more than anything right now so I'll most likely be focusing more on those for awhile. If you looking for new commissions, don't. They won't be open until I'm finished with what I have now.

And yes I'm working on getting that new YouTube video done sometime in Feburary. I want to find the time tomorrow to record the footage if there's some HD cameras still available at the school. Also Ustream will be coming back in February! I AM considering switching to Livestream because they've got much more powerful broadcasting tools and a better interface. A short ad pops up every 15 minutes over the video... but other than that don't spam you near as much as Ustream's been doing lately. Ustream's always giving me problems, I want to see how Livestream may fair. Also you don't need an account to post messages, which could be nice to hear from my family and our silent account-less viewers.

Features

Stole this from ~Gweakles Hur Hur :B

The first 10 people who comment on this journal asking me to will be featured here, along with three deviations chosen from their gallery (featured pictures will be chosen by me). BUT before you type that, you'll have to do the same in your journal, putting me in the first slot, completing the list with 10 people.

If you don't post a journal following these instructions in 24 hours, I'll remove ya from my journal. Because I have the powah beetches >:U Also please have more than 3 things in your gallery that you'd consider worthy of your skills; I want to be able to show off your very best by finding pictures that speaks to me! Help spread the DA love!

Edit: If you draw something for Dinosaur Day, I'll feature your dino and one other picture regardless! The entry must be new and dino-related. Even if it's a scribble XD I just love dinosaurs too muuuucch. (Try and submit it to drawadinosaurday.com if you can too, their submissions are open through Feb 2)
