This is the third fursuit costume I've created featuring one of my Pokemon characters named Avery, the Leafeon. This was created as part of a full Eeveelution cosplay group originally debuted at A-kon 20 in Dallas, Texas. The mask features a moving jaw which I'm happy to say I have now perfected.

The costume took somewhere between 80 to 100 hours to complete (not counting the planning stages). Also my first time working with faux fur and real leather. I'm very satisfied with this costume and like every other project, this one gave me a challenge and an amazing opportunity to grow in my skills as a fursuit builder.


The full Eeveelution group won the 1st Place in the Hall Costume Contest Saturday at A-kon 20. Since then I've fixed up the costume since a large majority was finished up in the hotel room (again, lawl) and took it to Rocky Mountain Fur Con. After some final adjustments (now officially proclaim the costume as finished) I signed up for the cosplay competition at Nan Desu Kan 2009.

I originally entered in the intermediate category, but when I appeared for the the preliminary craftsmanship judging, they took one look at my moving jaw and bumped me up to masters. I certainly did my job of impressing them, but perhaps I did it a little too well? I was honored that I had they felt I belonged in a higher category but now was worried that I wouldn't stand a chance. But everything turned out just fine and from this point on, I have officially become a "Master Cosplayer" winning 1st Place Masters Craftsmanship
